¿Hay lugar barato para una recepción de año de 50 personas en Dallas, donde podemos llevar nuestro propio en comida / bebida?

Me estoy muriendo aquí … no puedo encontrar nada. Básicamente, necesidad de una sala con mesas y sillas decente por algunas horas que no cuesta $ 1,000. No es un todo mayor en el mercado de aquí en Dallas para algo como esto. Nuestro presupuesto de cerca de $ 300 es. ¿Alguien tiene alguna idea? He mirado en los restaurantes (el presupuesto se eleva a $ 500 con los alimentos), hoteles, espacios para banquetes, centros comunitarios, clubes de golf … ¡Socorro!

Dallas Weddings On A Budget

My friend is getting married 4 hours from here this saturday. Is it stupid to expect accomodation?

My friend is getting married this saturday to the man of her dreams. She asked if I could come by and I said sure. But here’s the problem.
It’s 4hrs and 30 minutes from here PLUS it’s on a saturday .

So my qn. is What time does marriages usually happen and also Should I go the day before and stay there( i am very tight on budget ) Or Drive Saturday morning itself from here( houston ) to there( dallas)?

It’s a 4 hour drive. So if the wedding is at 11:00 . I have to get up at 5:00 . Leave at 6:00a.m!!!
Is this really possible? Should I call her and ask politely about accomodation because I live on unemployment checks right now. .. How should I ask about accomodation . I haven’t been to a lot of weddings but she’s special which is why I am going.

How long have you known about this wedding? You need to ask the bride to be where the wedding will take place, what time it will take place, and if there are any special dress requirements. During that conversation you can ask if there’s any place to stay so that you can come in the day before and perhaps stay until the day after. If there’s no way to accommodate you, that is the time to explain your financial situation and decline the invitation if that is necessary. You can salvage your friendship with the bride by sending a wedding gift later, when you can afford it. BTW, I live in Dallas and my kids live in the Houston area. I’ve driven that route more often than I can remember. It gets pretty boring but, if you leave early on a Saturday and get through Conroe before the traffic builds, you can breeze right up the road to Dallas in pretty good time.

nice hotel/resort in Texas?

Our anniversary is approaching and we want to plan a nice get-away. We live in San Antonio and are willing to drive anywhere in Texas.. but we’d prefer not to stay in San Antonio, Fredericksburg, Austin, Dallas or Fort Worth as we’ve seen all of these places. Does anyone know of any nice hotels or resorts for a relaxing romantic get-away? Our musts: a pool and/or hot tub, clean. Our wish list: swim up bar!
In response to the replies I’ve received so far… I looked up Abernathy motel and can’t find a website, but with the name Motel I’m thinking it’s not the “resort” we’re looking for. As far as Hyatt Hill Country, yes I know it’s nice and that’s definitely more along the lines of what we want but like I said we don’t want to stay in San Antonio, we’d like to get away.

try the abernathy motel in amarillo. their pool is open 24 hrs a day, and at 2am there is no one out there. i dont know about a bar. i think there is one down the street. also, i think they are hiring, so u might be able to do some work for them for a cheaper rate on your room.

My girlfriend and I are going to dallas and staying downtown. Where is a trendy, hip area for a good hotel and that is also walking or a short cab ride from a swanky, 20 ish professional lounge/club??? Should we stay on greenville or right downtown at the hyatt? Help!!!

The Magnolia and the Adolphus are both extremely nice hotels and within a short walk or cab drive to Deep Ellum (lots of lounges & bars with many genres of music) or Gilleys.

Beaches in Dallas, Tx? If so are they warm in January?

So, we want a beach vacation. Going in January. Thought about going to Dallas so we could visit TD Jakes church, The Potter’s house. Are there beaches nearby that you can actually swim at? and if so what are some of the beachfront hotels that are not luxury…I’m talking about like a Best Western or something..

Dallas is about 250 miles from the Gulf of Mexico so it would not be a short drive for you.
There is a lake near the Potter’s house, but no beach, and it is too cold to get in the water this time of year. There are several decent motels not too far from the church.

Loc Colinas is a really upscale neighborhood … awesome location … Omni hotels are some of the best. The Omni Mandalay Hotel is just exquisite and named one of the best in the world. They have wonderful packages that will get you massage, manicure etc. along with a great room … I got them for a unbelievable rate of only $350 per day. Try them.
